How to get involved in the second wave work packages ?
Publication of the Euratom Work Programme
The European Commission adopted on March 19 the Euratom Work Programme for 2026 and 2027. EURAD-2 is granted 30 million € for 2026-2027 allowing the continuation of the running RD&D Work Packages and the funding of a second wave.
Selection of Work Packages for the second wave
The Bureau has presented on March 16, to the WP Coordination Teams, the consensus reached about the selection of the WP proposals, which was previously agreed by the Colleges. The list of the Work Packages is shared below:
- TOSCA (Toxic substances and chemicals)
- ECOFRAME (European common framework for operational scientific data in radioactive waste management)
- AI/ML (AI/Machine learning for analysis of site characterisation subsurface data)
- MOGARE (Modelling of gas behavior and migration at the repository scale)
- EBS (EBS Materials / Sustainable materials and processes for enhancing passive safety and robustness of Engineered Barrier Systems)
- GEOSCALE (Geosphere models as a tool for improving confidence in site characterization and assessment of long-term evolution and safety)
- ASTRAD (Alternative strategies research and development, including activities about TENORM and depleted Uranium management)
How to get involved ?
The second wave is open to new participants and organisations that are not yet part of the Consortium. If you are interested in contributing to one of the Work Packages, we invite you to contact the relevant Work Package Coordination Team (WPCT). Please see the list of contacts below.
