Dear colleagues,

We would like to remind you to submit your abstracts for the International Conference on Clays in Natural and Engineered Barriers for Radioactive Waste Confinement (Clay Conference) 2024 in Hannover from November 24^th to 28^th 2024. Furthermore, early bird registration is open and will close in September 2024.

The focus of the Clay Conference is clay as host rock for geological disposal of radioactive waste and the use of compacted swelling clays as an engineered barrier component. Considering design, construction, operation and post-closure, the Clay Conference provides a unique networking platform for sharing scientific and technological knowledge.

The 9^th Clay Conference 2024 will take place at Hannover Congress Centrum (Hannover, Germany) and will feature oral presentations and poster sessions as well as a scientific support programme, including workshops and technical visits.

Deadline for submission of abstracts is
Tuesday, the 26^th of March 2024.

Abstract requirements and the submission form, topics, detailed information and updates concerning the Clay Conference 2024 can be found on www.clayconference2024.de. Author notification will follow in July 2024.

Participants of the Clay Conference 2024 will also be invited to submit manuscripts to special issues of the conference. Further information will follow in due course.
