Elle a recours à l'expertise technique de sa filiale Bel V pour effectuer les contrôles dans les centrales et autres installations nucléaires et radiologiques en Belgique (hôpitaux, universités, installations radiologiques,…).

The Centre for Energy Research (EK) was established in January 2012 on the basis of two former independent institutions, the Institute of Isotopes (IKI) and the KFKI Atomic Energy Research Institute (AEKI). The Centre is part of the research network of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The mission of the Centre for Energy Research is to perform research and development in the field of nuclear science and technology for facilitating the adoption and the safe use of nuclear technology in Hungary, to participate in international research efforts aiming at the establishing a new generation of nuclear power plants and closing the fuel cycle, to study the interaction of radiation (including neutrons, gamma-rays and electrons) with matter, and to do isotope and nuclear chemistry, chemical analysis by nuclear methods, radiography, radiation chemistry, radiation protection and nuclear security, surface chemistry and renewable energy research.

Since the commissioning of the High Flux Reactor and the Low Flux Reactor in Petten over fifty years ago, radioactive waste has been produced. The waste, not only from Petten but from all over the Netherlands (for example from hospitals), has been stored for many years in the dedicated radioactive solid waste storage facility on ECN/NRG’s research site, the Waste Storage Facility (WSF).

Experts around the world agree that the safest solution is to build a deep geological repository (DGR) that safely isolates such waste from the environment for hundreds of thousands of years.

The National Radiation Protection Institute (NRPI) is a non-profit organization established by the decision of the chairman of the State Office for Nuclear Safety (SONS) on May 26, 1995, which became effective on July 1, 1995. The Institute was based mainly on the former Centre for Radiation Hygiene of the National Institute of Public Health in Prague transferred under the authority of SONS , and it continues its tradition of many years.
